New York Dental Assistant Schools & Training Programs
Required Education for Dental Assistants
Education to become a dental assistant is usually available in two options; one year certificates are a popular choice, while a two-year Associate degree program will qualify the assistant for a higher salary. Also those who hold an Associate degree are often eligible to apply with the state of New York for status as a Registered Dental Assistant.
Financial Aid
Almost all colleges and vocational schools will offer forms of financial aid. Each person’s qualification status is dependent upon may personal factors. A FAFSA form should be completed and submitted to the school. Most students are eligible for a federal Stafford loan; this is a government loan with a very low interest rate which will not accrue while in school. Also free grants and scholarships are available to some students.
