Dental assistants are the go-to people in the dental office. If you’ve ever had a trip to the dentist that went smoothly from the front desk to the dentist’s chair, it’s probably because of the skills and training of the dental assistant. Dental assisting is one of the fastest growing fields in today’s workforce. Dental assistants are becoming more and more in demand as people who have a valuable array of skills. They run the front office, take x-rays, keep things sterile, prepare for and assist during procedures, and the list of duties continues to grow. They are also good communicators and can both multitask and focus on a specific duty when needed. If you’ve ever wanted to get into a stimulating, rewarding, well-paying career with chances to get ahead, you ought to consider a career as a dental assistant. The job outlook has been projected by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics as “excellent,” and the job skills you learn as a dental assistant provide opportunities to move into more specialized careers.
